CINDY ANNE WRIGHT – ARTIST STATEMENT

Having never studied art, in my adult life I have dabbled in different mediums and found much satisfaction in being able to create a piece of work from my own heart. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by my family and my husband who are all artistic and creative, this has been of great value to me and what I try to achieve in my craft.

My approach to the subject is head-on and my background colours usually reflect the mood and environment around me. Since spending time in Margaret River the tranquillity and calmness of the mystic forests, ocean and farms have had a huge effect on me.

Aside from painting mainly oils on canvas, I have for many years enjoyed the pleasure and challenges of textile painting, I simply love the way a design, use of colours and texture can capture the essence of what one would like to portray.

Having experienced various different countries, I am now very much settled in Western Australia and enjoying all it has to offer.
