LAUREN RUDD – ARTIST STATEMENT

In 1985 Lauren was accepted into an art program at the Claremont School of Arts. She was seventeen and in the mist of discovering hidden talents. Her love and passion for working with clay and the human form was born and continues to grow today. Clay being the medium that Lauren has chosen to sculpt with, for the past 30 years.

Lauren works in a representational manner, stylising her work with an exaggeration of curves and movement.

Her Torso’s are part of a series. Each piece is hand pressed and worked to an individual finish. She only makes up to 20 pressings per mould.

Clients can personalise their own pieces, requesting different coloured glazes, carvings and finishes.-
