Statement
I express my admiration of the natural world in which we live with oil paintings of Western Australian wildflowers. The paintings reflect my personal experiences with the flowers, and the mini miracles that I see in each of them. I hope that through my works I will be able to deliver both an educational and an environmental message related to the need for conservation of our wildflowers.
Most of the flowers painted are used in the modality of flower essence therapy for the healing of human ailments. This is my way of demonstrating the value of the wildflowers and it will hopefully encourage all who see them to both admire their vitality and vibrancy in both energy and colour, whilst taking on board the knowledge that these flowers are worthy of respect and continued life.
The ecosystem in which we live is profoundly and sometimes devastatingly affected by the actions of human beings. In time the resulting loss of our natural wonders will directly affect our lives and wellbeing. If the wonders of our natural environment are nurtured, then they in turn are capable of nurturing us.
If, in my own small way, I can encourage people not just to look, but to see, to protect and nurture our environment, then I am happy.
