LAURENCE POSA – ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Laurie has a love of the absurd, especially when it is combined with irony and mystery. He is a keen observer of society and life and his surreal works are often a series of social observations that form narrative threads woven in to a bigger picture. He tries to achieve this without being patronising – allowing the viewer to make up their own mind as to his intentions.
His paintings have been described as thought-provoking, challenging, insightful and sometimes controversial, and have been sought after for private and public collections in Australia and overseas.
