Janine Cairnes

Janine has always had a yen to paint and it was only when her family grew up that she had the time to pursue her interest.

The extent of her training and experience are as follows:

For Janine it started with a weekend workshop she saw advertised in Yallingup about 10 years ago, after which she joined a class at Fremantle Arts Centre with Peter Walker, learning some watercolour techniques. Janine was still working at this stage, however since retiring in 1995 has been painting full time.

Janine has participated in UWA extension weekend workshops with Sally Douglas, Tony Windberg and Drewfus Gates. She has also attended Larry Mitchell’s classes at Melville Arts Centre for a year and participated in a weekend workshop with him and is now listed as a member of the WA’s Society of Arts and the Wanneroo Art Society.
