Belinda Musco

BELINDA MUSCO – ARTISTS STATEMENT

Belinda has been working as an artist for over 17 year. Belinda came from a background of Italian heritage, all of which is southern and her work reflects the mood and tone of woman with this influence of heritage.

Her paintings are an abundance of energy and vitality, representing for her a very raw feeling of the place, which is captivating. The backgrounds of her paintings have a very deliberate effect of soft tones and shades and areas of texture, created through collage, while the figures have their own strength.

Belinda finds the influence of other artists a very strong and healthy way of learning more and more about herself and what is the ultimate style. She feels that she will never stop learning or developing her style as it’s a constant.

Her Southern Italian heritage has always intrigued her, even when visiting the towns of where her parents and their parents originated from – the visit has influenced her ideas of the beauty of women. She has always found the human body interesting in all its shape and forms and appreciates the line an artist, such as Brett Whitely, achieved so beautifully.
