ANTJE COLLIS – ARTIST STATEMENT

For those having trouble pronouncing Antje’s first name, try saying ‘Un – Chair’. Initially being educated in Australia, it was not long before an easy alternative was found to Antje, thus she became known as Anne.

Her development has been the result of taking what has appealed from various sources, without allowing other styles and techniques to inhibit her own progress. Using imagination and flair to develop a fresh and individual style that includes a variety of subjects and mediums.

Displaying confidence in her ability and ideas, Anne has made rapid progress with her work being featured in selected galleries both in Victoria and interstate. In addition her works are regularly sold at various Art shows around Australia.

Antje’s recent works include the exciting addition of mixed media to more abstract theme paintings.

Antje exhibits her works in many Rotary Clubs and private school shows around Australia. She enters about 35 shows a year and won The Best Other Medium at the Lorne Art Show 2004 & 2005. Antje has won numerous Highly Commended Awards.
