BRIAN COX STATEMENT.
Brian was born in Sheffield England and emigrated to Australia in 1963. His creative era came late to him during the mid 90’s after marriage to an established artist.
Being born in Sheffield it was surely almost inevitable that Brian’s creations would be fashioned from antique nickel silver cutlery. In fact Brian’s first job was with one of Sheffield’s most famous cutlery manufacturers. His creations are a process of fabrication not melting and casting and many hours go into creating his delightful Tableaux Vivant. His work can be seen in major galleries both in Australia and overseas.
Brian has been featured on national television and in numerous magazines and newspapers. In 2005 Brian was awarded first prize in fashion and jewellery in the Reed Gift Awards.
His work is held in many private collections around the world.
