BRIAN & LYNDA MUIR – ARTIST STATEMENT

Passion
Passionate about creating individually hand built one off pieces, and working together, we use a simplistic, imaginative approach to our work, which takes on a whimsical, quirky, humorous vein

Lynda, inspired by colour, has always been artistically inclined, drawing sketching and clay work … Brian who discovered the inner drive to express himself later in life, brings his technical background to their studio, enjoying the challenge of ‘thinking outside of the box’

Their origin
We first settled in Western Australia, bringing with us some cultural experiences from our earlier lives in other countries such as Egypt, Cyprus, Germany, and exotic Kenya.

Their work
Now working from our small studio/workshop in the Sunshine Coast Queensland as emerging artists, our work sells at garden shows and galleries, in the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, and all states of Australia. Brightly coloured and hand built, our exclusive pieces are suited to both homes and gardens, and have found their way to many countries worldwide. Our clients include collectors of ceramic animals and birds, because of the unique style. Over the last two years we have also been casual stallholders at the famous Eumundi Art markets on the Sunshine Coast.

Inspiration
To continually expand our skills and range, we attend workshops conducted by well known accomplished tutors, frequently work with other professional Australian and International clay workers, and participate in ongoing shows and exhibitions (Spring Fever / Ignition / ) Always open to fresh ideas, we will have this in mind this year when we travel to USA Canada Hawaii and the Caribbean.
